Do you practice meditation? Do you go on walks? How about hikes in nature?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, this thread is for you.

Sometimes these habits can get boring. Or it can be difficult to fit both meditation and walking into your routine.

But you can fit both of these habits into your routine. In fact, you can combine the two habits!

Today, you'll learn how to spice up your routine AND make it more efficient if you practice meditation and walking habits.

Let’s dive in:

What is nature meditation?

Nature meditation is as the name suggests. It's meditation but in nature.

It's a great way to breathe fresh air into your current meditation routine. Use it to increase your awareness of your surroundings.

Focus on one or more of your senses during your meditation practice:

-Sight

-Smell

-Sound

-Touch

-Taste (if you're feeling adventurous)

This increased awareness gives you a greater appreciation of your senses. And it increases your appreciation for the beauty of nature.

Plus, it's always great to get outside of the house for a while. Staying cooped up at home isn’t great for your mental health. Fresh air provides a relieving sensation.

You can practice nature meditation while sitting, standing, or even walking.

There are an endless number of ways you can customize your nature meditation practice. It's a versatile tool to add to your routine. You won’t get bored with your meditation routine if you have different options to practice this habit. Each nature meditation variation provides different benefits.

Try this strategy…

One great strategy to try is to go for a hike and find a quiet spot with a beautiful or interesting view.

Sit down facing the view. Get comfortable. Relax.

Keep your eyes open. Stare out at the view as if you're staring straight through it. Or stare at one particular object or area within the view.

Sit there for a few minutes and observe how you feel.

Feel the calmness and stillness of your body.

Feel your body becoming one with nature. You are where you belong.

When you're ready, get back up and finish your hike.

This strategy allows you to combine 2 habits into 1. You’ll save time combining these 2 habits. It’ll also help you stick to both of them, as you won’t need to do both at separate times during the day. You do both during the same time block in your schedule.

And you get to experience the beauty of nature for a bit longer than you normally would on your nature walks.

Wrapping up

Nature meditation is underrated. It’s not as popular as traditional meditation practices. But it’s an effective and interesting way to practice meditation.

If you love nature, then you’ll appreciate spending more time experiencing its beauty. And if you don’t get outside much, this is an excellent opportunity for you to start getting out more.

Try nature meditation today.

You won't regret it.
