Blog Update: Why Are My Blogs Getting Shorter?
Hi! You may have wondered, “Why are Cam’s blogs getting shorter lately?”
If you were wondering about this, then you would be correct. My blogs are getting shorter.
Going forward, most of my blogs will be shorter. I plan to post blogs that are between 500 and 1000 words from now on.
This isn’t a huge change. But I thought you deserved to know about the change and why it is happening.
Now you may be asking, “Why are you doing this?”
I’m glad you asked. This is the purpose of today’s blog post.
Let’s dive in.
What’s going on?
The past few months have been instrumental in the growth of my business.
I’ve been writing extensively on Twitter. It’s a great place to connect with other writers and like-minded people!
I’ve made new friends, who challenge me to think and be better every day. I’ve been able to connect with the people I’m looking for. Hopefully, my content inspires you to do the same.
I write about similar concepts and topics that I write about here on my blog.
My Twitter account focuses on:
Self-improvement
Fat-loss
Productivity
I post twice every day. I post much more on Twitter than I do on my blogs.
If you’d like to follow me, here is my Twitter profile: https://twitter.com/_cbill_.
And I write 3 threads per week. If you don’t know what a thread is, it’s essentially a blog post Twitter style. Threads start with a headline, which is the opening post. You can then attach additional posts as comments under the original post to create a thread.
Some of my threads have been based on previous blog posts I’ve written. But most of them have been original content that may eventually be turned into blog posts.
I’m loving writing threads!
I’ve shifted my content to focus more on Twitter because I’m having a blast writing threads.
Why are my blogs getting shorter?
I’ve learned a lot from my writing experience on Twitter.
You have to be concise with your writing. You can only write 280 characters in each Twitter post and comment. There’s no space for writing filler junk words and sentences.
You need to get straight to the point.
This makes your writing clearer, stronger, and easier to understand.
Clarity is crucial to any form of writing. But it is a necessity for writing on Twitter.
I enjoy reading short, concise writing. It creates a more inviting read.
Who wants to read tons of filler crap content? I don’t.
I also tend to speak little. I’ve always preferred maximizing the impact of my words by saying only what needs to be said.
And I’ve realized that my writing should be the same way since I started writing on Twitter.
So, I’m now making my content reflect this realization.
What’s next?
Don’t worry. You’ll still get plenty of content from me.
I’m not going anywhere. You'll still get two blog posts from me each week.
But I am adapting.
I hope you’re not upset about getting shorter-form content.
If this new style of content isn’t enough to satisfy you, check out my Twitter account linked above. You’ll get multiple posts EVERY day.
Twitter is also a more user-friendly place to discuss ideas and concepts. After all, it’s a social media platform.
Hope to see you there.
