Dear readers,

My name is Cam Billings. I am a freelance copywriter who specializes in writing for the self-improvement industry.

What is my blog about?

My blog provides self-improvement content aimed to help you develop the inner peace needed to live your best life..

Why write about self-improvement?

Self-improvement is the best way I know to improve your life. In fact, it has improved mine immensely.

For instance, let me take you back to March of 2020. I was overweight, felt sluggish, unfocused, unconfident, and unhappy.

Then, the pandemic happened. I was sent home from my college to quarantine for the rest of the semester. And then the next semester was moved to remote-learning.

This time provided me an opportunity to reflect on why I was unhappy.

This reflection happened on accident.

I got bored during quarantine, and I realized that my thoughts weren't productive.

I beat myself up about little mistakes, constantly worried about what other people thought of me, cared too much about what other people were doing, distracted myself from my problems, and the list goes on.

After several weeks of reflection in quarantine, I knew I needed to make a change. I had to turn my life around.

So, I decided to start by losing weight. 8 months later, I had lost 63 pounds.  This single action of losing weight provided benefits in many other areas of my life.

I no longer felt sluggish. Every morning, I now wake up full of energy and excitement to start the day. I love mornings now.

I feel lighter and agile. I can now move my body the way it was meant to be moved.

I became more disciplined. Losing weight requires consistent effort and patience. I got comfortable doing the same things over and over again to lose weight. Day in, day out.

As each day turned into each week, I built momentum.

Anything that was going to take me off track became easier and easier to say “no” to.

I developed priorities. Because I knew that losing weight was most important to me, that became my focus. Things that used to be irresistible to me, such as pizza, fries, etc. no longer interested me.

I could have these foods if I wanted to because I planned for it in my diet, but I found that I wasn’t interested in eating them. Eating nutritious, tasty food became far more satisfying and rewarding.

I built confidence because I knew I had the power to say “No”. I became in control of my choices.

It is such a great feeling knowing that you are making choices that will help you achieve your goals.

Hopefully what I’ve learned along the way can help you improve your life and achieve a calm, clear, and peaceful mind.
