Your mindset determines your reality.

If you believe you can't do something, then you won't be able to do it.

If you believe you can do it, then you'll be able to do it. This is true provided the goal is a somewhat realistic one. You just need to work towards it.

You’d be surprised at how true this observation is. Your mind can be a powerful tool. But it can also be your worst enemy.

If you want your mind to be a powerful tool, then you need to believe in yourself. So, you must believe you can accomplish the goal before you accomplish it.

But what if you're trying to accomplish a big goal? A goal that you're unsure if you can achieve it, but you want to give it a shot? What if this goal scares you?

These fears are natural.

You will have fears about accomplishing your goals. It's inevitable. These fears are part of the human experience. So, you should have these fears, especially if you want to accomplish a big goal

What to do about these fears

Don't cower away from these fears. Instead, embrace your fears.

Remember why you want to achieve your goals. Remember the reward you want to earn for your efforts.

You must act despite these fears. Work towards your goals, even if the outcome isn't a guaranteed reward or accomplishment.

This is courage.

Embracing the uncertainty. Entering the unknown. And acting despite the fears you have.

So, courage is essential to having a mindset built for success.

If you don't have courage, then you'll never step outside of your comfort zone. You'll never expand your horizons. You'll never make meaningful progress toward a big goal. And so on.

A life without courage is a life of stagnation. It’s a life where you plateau, never making progress or upgrades to your life.

This is the best-case scenario.

The more realistic scenario is that a life without courage is filled with regret and misery.  A life full of "what ifs."

This life full of “what-ifs” will destroy your soul. The pain of regret is agonizing. Don’t underestimate it.

Final thoughts

Be courageous.

Do things that scare you. Take chances on things that'll improve your life.

You may not know if you'll succeed in doing these things. But it's always worth the attempt.

Don't ignore your desire to accomplish these things.

The pain of regret is greater than the pain of putting in hard work toward a goal without a guaranteed outcome.

Cowardice is not an option.

Being a coward prevents you from achieving what you want to achieve. It’ll prevent other people from respecting you. And your life will feel as if it’s not in your hands. You’ll feel powerless and directionless, like a ship lost at sea.

Becoming more courageous will improve your life. It’s one of the greatest things you can do for yourself.

So, be brave and start working towards your big, scary goals today.
